The Tempest day 11.

Our final day with active approaches. We worked through The Tempest in a form which enables a performance of the whole play in 20 minutes. Quite a challenge!

The children spent our last few days of the half term writing spells for Prospero to create the storm and composing messages to send out to sea in bottles from some of the characters in the play. They included details of how they got to the island, what life is like for them there and what they would like their rescuers to do for them.

The Tempest day 9

We explored the relationship between Prospero and the spirit Ariel.
This meant the children really got to grips with a section of the play script, as the two characters debate Ariel's desire for freedom.

The Tempest day 10.

Caliban and Prospero argue in today's activity. Curses and insults fly as Caliban attempts to threaten Prospero, but all the power is with Prospero.
